PRESS RELEASE

500 new employment opportunities are coming due to the Skouries Project

As construction progresses at the Skouries copper and gold mining project, which is expected  to commence commercial production by the end of 2025, numerous new job opportunities are being created for diverse roles, open to all individuals regardless of gender, age, work experience, or educational background.

Hellas Gold, as one of the largest employers in Northern Greece, along with its contractors for the Skouries Project, are organizing a series of open informational events to highlight current and upcoming employment opportunities.  These events, scheduled through the end of 2024 in local communities of the Municipality of Aristotle, Stavros, and Polygyros, are aiming to attract and inform potential candidates from the region about over 500 new positions at the Skouries Project, which include roles in the ongoing construction phase and, subsequently, in the operation of the new  world-class mine.

In addition to receiving information, participants will have the chance to submit applications or resumes and to engage with representatives from both the company and its contracting partners for the Skouries Project construction.

Every Hand Counts in this Project

The 500 new employment opportunities will be gradually filled, with priority given to those roles related to the construction phase. However, all roles will be open to applicants of all ages, regardless of prior work experience or education. Hellas Gold’s objective has always been, and continues to be, to prioritize hiring from the local community (residents of the Municipality of Aristotle and surrounding areas).

All new employees, whether starting their careers or advancing to the next level, will be trained at Hellas Gold's modern Technical Training Center. Here, through the use of advanced training methods, successful applicants will acquire the necessary skills to successfully integrate into their new roles.

In accordance with its commitment to fostering prosperity in local communities, Hellas Gold contributes to the region’s socioeconomic development through job creation, the growth of economic activity in the area, and a strong social investment in the local community.

The Skouries Project has already created approximately 900 new jobs, aiming to reach 1,300 by year-end. Developing a world-class mine for Greece, equipped with technological innovations and best practices for operation, will ensure long-term benefits and contribute to a sustainable future for both the region and the country.
