Hellas Gold's Periodic Preventive Employee Screening Program received the Silver Award in the "Provision of Occupational Health & Safety Services" category.
This recognition highlights the company's commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment as a fundamental pillar of its corporate responsibility strategy. Ensuring a healthy and safe workplace is a core commitment for Hellas Gold, going beyond mere compliance with European and Greek legislation.
As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a healthy work environment that inspires employees to adopt a broader culture of health and safety both as workers and as citizens in the communities where we operate, we implemented an innovative periodic preventive screening program for our employees in 2023.
Our company structured a modern and comprehensive medical screening program. Beyond conducting medical examinations to monitor the health status of employees, the program included further processing of medical results, aiming at personalized diagnosis, counseling, treatment, and monitoring of their health progression.
The program was developed by the experienced and specialized team of Hellas Gold's Occupational Health Department, reflecting the company's commitment to providing medical services in the workplace based on the principles of prevention and early intervention. This initiative represents an additional step towards building a healthy work environment and, by extension, a healthy local community.
Hellas Gold’s Occupational Physician, Alkinoi Krikella, stated: “We are particularly happy and proud of this distinction, which demonstrates Hellas Gold's dedication to promoting the well-being of its employees. We firmly believe that maintaining a healthy work environment that inspires employees to adopt a broader culture of health and safety is of paramount importance. For this reason, we will continue to invest in innovative programs such as the periodic preventive check-up program, which promotes the health of our nearly 1,000 employees, who also constitute a significant portion of the local population of the Municipality of Aristotle.”
The objective of the 10th Annual Health & Safety Awards 2024, organized under the auspices of the Greek Institute for Occupational Health and Safety, is to highlight companies that create and maintain safe workplaces, develop a culture of preventive health and safety among employers and employees, and can serve as role models within their industries.
